The National Association of Retired Firefighters was founded in 1968, to fight for conditions of former firefighters and fire service widows and families. The aims and objectives of the Association are to promote and safeguard the interest of all its members, and their dependants, and actively engage with other pensioner organisations. To promote measures for members welfare, companionship and social contacts and to maintain links with serving members of the Fire Service.

Braidwood Lodge is named after James Braidwood who became the first Superintendant of the London Fire Engine Establishment in 1833. Sadly, in 1861 he lost his life at the infamous Tooley Street fire. It was formed in 2005 primarily, but not exclusively for retired and serving fire officers.

The London Fire Brigade Retired Members Association was formed in 1930. Activity of the Association was suspended when the Brigade was mobilized in 1939. When the National Fire Service was disbanded in 1948, and the LFB was reinstated under the LCC the activities of the RMA resumed with a dinner in Soho. Unfortunately no records remain of pre war activities except for the two booklets containing the details of members also a photograph of the dinner in late 1948.

The Fire Service Preservation Group was founded in London in 1968, its purpose was to preserve the equipment and appliances of the Fire services. The fire fighting equipment and miscellania owned by our members, some dating back to the very beginning of Fire Brigades is often on show at events and exhibitions throughout the country, with members demonstrating, its uses and the dress of the time. The group raise many thousands of pounds annually for local and national charities including the Fire Fighters Charity.

Star & Phoenix Lodge  formed in 1988 by a number of serving and retired London Firefighters who enjoyed their Freemasonry and wished to help and enhance its precepts of honor and fidelity. Not exclusive to firefighters, it now represents a spectrum of professions whose members welcome the opportunity to support the wider community both in financial and practical ways. Our members are pleased to be associated with the aims and objectives of the FMCT and proud their Lodge is a Voluntary Group Member.

The Fire Officers’ Association is a trade union for people employed by fire and rescue services and associated professions. We focus on issues affecting managers and believe that delivering a service where their contribution is recognised helps to create an environment in which all staff are valued by their managers and peers. We firmly support the work of the FMCT.

The Fire Brigades Union represents firefighters at all levels within the Fire and Rescue Service across the UK – in fire stations, control rooms or other departments. We fight for all – regardless of duty system, regardless of role and regardless of workplace. Wholetime and retained firefighters need to support each other. We are stronger when we work and campaign together.

Founded in 1918, the Institute of Fire Engineers is a not for profit charity to encourage fire professionals to improve their knowledge and skills. To encourage and improve the science and practice of Fire Extinction, Fire Prevention and Fire Engineering and to give an impulse to ideas likely to be useful to the members of the Institution and to the community at large.

The Chief Fire Officers’ Association has existed since 1941, became a registered charity in 1999. CFOA aspires to be the professional voice of the UK Fire & Rescue Service and has been working on behalf of the FRS and communities they serve for over 60 years. CFOA aims to lead, advise, communicate with and provide support to its members and the Fire & Rescue Service community. It also provides independent advice to government on fire prevention, protection, intervention, community safety and rescue matters. 

The Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Branch of the Western Front Association are proud to join the Fire Fighters' Memorial Trust as voluntary members. The WFA was formed in 1980, with the aim of furthering interest in the 1914-1918 period, and to perpetuate the memory of all those who served their countries during the Great War. In honoring the memory of those who have served their country, we believe the WFA has much in common with the Fire Fighters Memorial Trust, and we welcome this opportunity to demonstrate our support"

The Civil Defence Association represents past and serving volunteers engaged in Civil Defence activities. Part of our mission statement identifies that we are able to provide information on the art and science of Civil Defence, and encourage involvement with the community especially as, but not limited to, a volunteer  and  actively encourage the young to become involved also. Activities include Rescue, Firefighting, First Aid, Shelter, Feeding, Communications, Nursing, Counselling and Befriending as well as others.
